KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): The Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) is expecting more than 40,000 participants in the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival 2019 (KLAF 2019) held at several locations from June 21 to July 7.
KLAF 2019 director, Dr Tan Loke Mun said this year’s festival would focus on future shelter, food security, art, architecture and technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.
With the theme, ‘Tomorrow’, he said the event would also encourage inclusiveness of all facets of architecture towards designing better sustainable living in an era of super connectivity through mobile devices, the Internet of things, cloud computing, self-drive vehicles and more.
“This festival seeks to engage with the community, it is not just about people learning about architecture and design but providing a platform to build future-proof shared and sustainable ecosystems,” he said at a press conference after the launch of KLAF 2019 at PAM Centre in Bangsar, here, yesterday.
Participants of KLAF 2019, to be officiated by PAM president Ezumi Harzani, will see inclusive engagement with communities from all over Malaysia and the region under four sub themes – shelter, future food, architecture and art, and a conference, Datum:KL.
Art Architecture Design District will host the sub theme of shelter, Publika Shopping Gallery (future food ), Galeri Petronas, Ruang by Think City, REX Cinema KL (architecture and art) and KL Convention Centre (Datum: KL).
